Guest guest
dear susan . i take enbrel and they tell us NOT TO give it near the belly button .. they say it has to be 2 inches AWAY from the belly button. i don't know about humeria tho. but she will learn this on the video tape she gets from enbrel and the doc. mike susan smith <bizzare48@...> wrote: Congradulations on the drug study. Don;t worry about giving yourself a shot. I use humeria , and give myself a shot every week. I do in the the stomache, around the bellybutton. I have lots of fat there to pinch. The needles are so sharp don;t really even feel it. I make sure to take my drug out of the fridge for about thirty minutes, before using. It burns if the medicine is to cold. So don;t freak yourself out, you can do it. Been There G yasdnilnoyl <lindsaylyon@...> wrote: Hey everybody! I haven't written in a while, so, first off, I'll just say HI to all the new people! Well, I got some good news today. I qualified for an Enbrel Drug Study. It last 2 years and EVERYTHING is paid for. All my rheumy visits and x-rays! I'm just a little (a lot) nervous about giving myself INJECTIONS!!! I HATE HATE HATE shots! I'm 23 and I still start bawling when I have to get a tetanus shot! I have to go into the Dr on Monday so they can teach me how to give myself the injections. Yikes! Also, anyone's that's been on Enbrel, were there any really nasty side-effects? Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!
Guest guest
That's what I've always heard, too, not to give the shot near the belly button. I have been on Enbrel for about 2 1/2 years, and it's working very well for me. I no longer mind giving myself shots because of what the results are going to be. So don't be afraid to give yourself shots, . Soon you'll be an expert at it. It doesn't hurt because the needles are so fine. The needles they used to send were twice as long and also thicker, so they would hurt a little. No problem now, though. I hope the Enbrel will work as well for you as it does for me.
