The biggest way to combat the leg cramps is to make sure you have enough fluids / electrolytes in you ... sports drinks etc help tremendously

Hi ,I have always done mine in the stomach. I had pain in my back and legs before tx so I think it is compounded with the aches from tx. I swear by a heating pad. I can move it to where I ache the most and it sure helps. I also have noticed that as long as I drink lots of H2O I don't get the severe headaches. I don't know if it's the water or in my "funny" little mind.AmberSent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: Neal Date: Tue, 24 Feb 2009 09:23:52 -0800 (PST)To: <Hepatitis_C_Central >Subject: shot dear guys,i take my shot tomorow, i was just wondering if it is better to take it in the stomachrather then the legs, will that help with the leg cramps?sarah

Where ever you have body fat you can take the shot . And where you take the shot doesn't effect the sides or the way it works on your body ..

Amber, the water IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING you can do for your side effects!!!

Its not in your head, its real! And the heating pads work great,, or those 'bed buddies' you can get at wallgreens,, they are sacks of grain that you put in the micro and heat them up, they stay warm for over an hour and they are soft and moldable so you can push them around your body and get the heat where it really hurts,, As one with fibro, I have tried it all, and these really do help!

hugs,

jax

yes, you can take it in your thighs,, just pinch up a bit of skin and do it just as if you were doing in your stomach.. personally I felt the legs stung more than the abdomen,, I liked it in the belly,, but everyone is different,, I did find that if I pushed the med in slowly, it didnt sting as bad no matter where I did my shot,,

hugs,

jax

Eliabeth, I have found that the leg much harder and the stomach was so much better. Not that any of this is good one way or another. Just try.

HI

I dont think that the site of where you give the shot will have much of an effect on the leg cramps, I think the cramps are from the medicine.. but you can certainly try it.. I know that the shot in the abdomen didnt hurt as bad as in the thigh, but I still had lots of leg aches afterwards.. but you can give it a try,, why not,,

you can give your shot in any fatty area, even on the backs of your arms,, just as long as you give it sub q or under the skin,,

hugs,

jax
