Guest guest
Cassy, Could it be an allergy to something you eat or drink every time you go there..but not something that you eat or drink normally at home. What about bath soap? Did you shower while there? Did you use a towel to dry your body after showering? It could be the laundry detergent or fabric softener that she uses. If you slept in her bed it could be allergy to something on the sheets or bed clothing. Or even fleas or mites in the bedding..especially if the dogs like to lay there or they normally sleep there when the bed is not in use. The next thing is what about her dogs. could you be getting bit by fleas? Some people are allergic to fleas. Good luck...I hope you are able to figure it out. The last thing that comes to mind is just stress of the visit. I know I get itchy when I am stressed as well as when I am going into a flare. My rheummy says this is a histimine response triggered by my RA. Toni In a message dated 11/25/2005 6:27:56 A.M. I did come home early but I have a strange question. I have had generalized itching since about two hours after I got home from her house. This happened the last time I was down there about two weeks ago. I did not pay too much attention to it last time, took a warm shower and put on some lotion and mostly felt better. It is happening again and I am itchy all over. I have a dog so I don't think it has to do with her pets. She has two dogs, one inside and one outside. She is clean so I am not sure what it is. I am itching all over and I am scratching until it hurts. Any ideas? Cassy
Guest guest
Thank you for your response. I think it may be something to do with the pets and stress. I only live 5 blocks from her so I do not sleep there, but I don't look forward to the visits anymore since being dx with RA. She has been so unsupportive that I don't even want to look at her, truly. It may be anything but it only happens after I go to her house with that severity. She has carpet, I don't, who knows. She is clean but carpet in itself is hard to get as clean as without. I thought I was going scratch till I bled last night. Yuc. Guest guest
Thank you for responding. I had generalized itching all over, but no rash or bumps. You are all probably right though about the stress because when I started thinking about having to go back down there, I started itching again with less severity but iching. I am trying to be nicer to all and I guess I paying for it physically. Ugh. Cassy > Well, today went fairly well. I did come home early but I have a > strange question. Guest guest
I did not realize that the itching could also be related to going into a flare, as well as stress. Good to know. I am getting a crash course in RA since mine seems to be aggressive and it has more symptoms than I realized. I am also very new to this and it came on very strong and with multiple symptoms. Thanks for all of the support. Cassy T > > > Cassy, > Could it be an allergy to something you eat or drink every time you go > there..but not something that you eat or drink normally at home.
