Guest guest
I have a friend who has Hep C and she did two treatments, but never became undetectable. The first one she did was the shots three times a week. The last one she did was the Pegasys like I'm doing now. I've heard that people who couldn't get rid of the virus can try Interfergen and Ribavirin, and I asked her if she considered trying that. She said the gastroenterologists she has seen said she is considered a " non responder " and don't think trying any other treatment would help. I suggested she go to see a hepatologist at the transplant hospital where I had my transplant since hepatologists are specialists of the liver, whereas gastroenterologists don't specialize in the liver. She also has cirrhosis, so I wouldn't trust our local gastroenterologists. She said she would go see a hepatologist at the transplant hospital to see what they say. It doesn't make sense to me to just quit because they say she's a non responder when there are other treatments out there to try. Was just wondering what you all think. Thanks.
