Is there some reason you are taking your shot

during the day, instead of at bedtime?

Hope you feel better..

Sheena is right you should take your shot at bedtime so that you sleep through the side effects. The only time I had to take it during the day was when I very first started the first treatment I did.

Then I was told to take them only at bedtime, so that I could sleep

through the side effects.

hon, try to take them at night. It is not fair to yourself to take them during the day. Too many things can wake you up.

Really I slept through my side effects on the day of the shot.

Next morning I would wake up, feeling kind of weak. But never like that first time I took it during the day. That was a horror story.

My husband went back to work after I took my shot at the doctor's

office thinking I would be okay, that I would go to bed and just sleep. Well I didn't the outside noises woke me up, cars driving

down the road, horns beeping and so forth. I woke up with a high fever, well not that high 102.0 F, but still high. Aching to beat the

band. After that, I always make sure that I was good and tired on

shot night.

hon,, why dont you take your shot at say 2 am,, when your hubby gets home so that it will take hours before it really hits and you'll be sleeping? I know about screwed up sleeping cycles, when I first was on tx, I was still working on the ambulance and had to be on duty for 24 hours at a time, So what I suggest is this and you can skip it if it doesnt work for you, but you 'COULD" take your shot instead of Fri am, take it thurs night, well move it back to fri am right before you go to sleep.. that way you'll be sleeping when the worst hits.. does that make sense? so if you take your shot on fri at 10 am, then take it the following week on Thurs nite./Fri am but much much earlier,, like at 2 or 3 am after your hubby comes home right before you go to sleep,, and then just do it every week at THAT same new time.. I think it will help

as you'll sleep through the worst of the sides,, I hope you're on an SSRI already because the INF depletes the seretonin in your brain anyway and if you already have trouble sleeping, the tx meds will make it worse.. but thats what I would do if I were you.. take it after your hubby gets home but right before you both go to sleep..

hugs,

jax

Hi ,

I know that we all react differently to treatment, but I wanted to let you know

that my first

few shots of interferon made me feel very flu-ish . . . aches all over, night

sweats. Not

nearly as bad as you're experiencing. But then those side effects subsided, as

if my body

adjusted to the medication or something. My injection sites were pretty red,

and again

that got better.

What I'm getting at (LOL) is that I experienced different side effects

throughout Tx and I

think others have experienced this as well. Things may or may not change for

you; I hope

with all my heart they do.

Try to take it one day at a time; pamper yourself anyway you can.
