Guest guest
- a big congrads on your loss. wow. as someone just starting out, im amazed. but, i guess for me ive never been into the calorie counting or fat counting thing - and being healthy and strong is more important to me than losing weight (and plus my husb. likes bigger women). im trying to get healthy and yes would like to lose some weight in the process. congrats! Jay - congrats on your loss as well! seems like you and i may be in almost the same place - just starting tae bo - but i have not been tracking weight loss or actively dieting, just working on exercising. Hedy - thanks for hte post about the tapes! i went to the site but couldnt find any tae bo things. im looking for *cheap* live tapes, i am really in a bad place financially but am getting bored w/ the studio tape. but at this point i just *cannot* buy even just one live tape! any more special deals will be appreciated! - all i can say is *WOW*!!!!!!! Fran - welcome to the group! Darcy - I dont care what anyone says, nobody - and i mean nobody - feels like they are ready to be a parent. honestly. now, thats not to say that ther are not people who *want* a child badly and *try* to get pregnent etc., but when it comes down to it, NOBODY feels really *ready*. I know i didn't. Now, as far as change - its no secret that kids change your life. and at first you might long for the pre-child days (I did), but that disappears quickly and you adjust to your new life as a mother. Being a mommy has no substitute, and although it is a lot of sacrifice and responsiblity, nothing can compare to the love you have for your child(ren)! They will bring change and stress, but they also bring much more love, joy, happiness, experience, and a whole lot of personal growth!!! As far as exercising, i am definately not the one to talk to b/c half of my pregnency was spent overseas where i lost a lot of wieght, then when i cam back i gained a whole lot of weight (part due to the pregancy and part due to the food/change in lifestyle, etc). but it is possible to get back into shape, and i imagine its a lot easier if you were committed to exercise before pregnency. some women even keep exercising the entire time they are pregnent - not at the same level, of course, but they remain active. and when the baby is small, if you are not working outside the home, you will have plenty of time to exercise when he/shesleeps! Everyone - as for me, im feeling much better and have been doing tae-bo this week again. im fasting right now (ten days, this is my first day) - its a spiritual fast that lasts ten days, no eating/drinking/sex/etc from 5am-6pm, but you can eat at night. so, my schedule is all mucked up and i need to fiture out a time to get tae-bo in during this fasting period (at a time when i can have water!!!) will most likely end up doing it from memory/written down in the other room (husband, small child....mornings are ideal for me but when i tried to get up at 330am i just couldnt do it). rachel who is going to change the baby's diaper and then drink a whole lot of water
