Guest guest
Dear Friends. Several of our group members have made me aware of this thing called "Grouply". This is a invasisive program from a website that goes into your address book and emails all your friends with invites. it is not something we want in our group, gives information as far as I have been told about this group. If you receive one of these emails, Please delete it. Do Not and I repeat Do not click on the link. I would appreciate your cooperation on this. They say that they are a part of yahoo. But they are not. I got a email from the moderators group about this and I will look it up and give you all the facts. Guest guest
Grouply is a first generation program. If you open it to see what it is, it sets a cookie in your 'c' drive. So even if you delete it after opening it, 'without answering it', the cookie is still there to send you another invite under a different personal name. IE: Debbie invites you... Hardy invites you...etc etc. If you see it in your e-mail list...delete it without opening it. Then it will think it has hit a non-existant e-mail address, and delete your e-mail from its list. Do not hit SPAM. This verifies your e-mail address!!! My son is a commercial computer programmer and he explained it to me this way. A friend of mine has a husband who works for yahoo, and he verified my son's explanation. Good luck. love don in kansas From: Janet <doc_jadeyahoo (DOT) com>Subject: [Hepatitis_C_ Central] Alert for the Group. To: hepatitis_c_ central@yahoogro ups.comDate: Friday, January 9, 2009, 6:12 PM Dear Friends. Guest guest
Thanks Don, That was the email that I was looking for from the Moderators Central. It was similar to what you posted. I did some tweaking in the group and I think I might have solved the problem in this group. But remember what Don has posted here. If it is from Grouply just delete it. Don't open it, don't click on the links. Go in and delete the cookies from your computer by goting to your control panel, go to the internet options, delete all the cookies.
