Guest guest
I am not doing well psychologically. The doctors consider the Bipolar 2 Rapid Cycling a neurological and biochemical disease, and it will still be weeks before the anti-seizure/mood stabilizer works at optimum.. I am following their advice, med compliance, etc., but not doing so well. Your prayers are deeply requested. Tess
Guest guest
Tess my dear, I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. I don't know very much about Bipolar diseases and right now I wish I did so that I could be of more help to you. Just know I am always here for you and any time you feel the need to talk I would welcome your phone call(reverse charges). I have a LD plan where I pay one fee and it covers all calls to US and Canada. So, if you feel like it, make yourself a cup of tea, call me collect and we can chat over tea. Guest guest
Tess: Hang in there, and things WILL get better. My son has the exact same diagnosis, and is currently hospitalized for a med change. He was on Tegretol and has just switched over to Depakote. The right combo of meds can do amazing things for those with Bipolar Disorder. It's like RA in that it can take some time to get the right combo. Be patient and hang in there. Also, I know you can do a google search with " famous people with bipolar disorder " ....and you'd be SHOCKED at the names that come up. Most with bipolar disorder are very bright, talented and artistic. My son has above average intelligence. I did the search and showed him the names so that he didn't feel so alone when he was diagnosed. There are some pretty amazing people who have accomplished some pretty fantastic things while living with the disorder. Feel free to e-mail me anytime. -- In , " Grammi B " <grammi_love@m...> wrote: > > > I am not doing well psychologically. Guest guest
As a person who suffers from depression, I can relate to a small part of what you are experiencing. Is there anything that you can do to keep your mind busy while you are waiting for results from the meds? I'm lucky right now, because I am working as a 5th grade teacher. If this RA takes over, however, I know that I will have to struggle with more depression. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
Tess, You are one of the most supportive people on this list, and even lurkers like me wish you well. Hang in there. Having been chronically depressed for years, I know it takes awhile for the meds to work. If this one doesn't, please get some other help. Guest guest
Tess, I sure wish these meds didn't take so long to be effective. I hate to see you suffer so much. You are just to sweet to have to deal with this painful disorder. You know you're always in my prayers. You are so dear to us and so supportive of everyone in spite of all you go through. Guest guest
Have you heard about a new type med on that front? It is called ABILIFY. It is suppose to be really good? I haven't taken it as of yet for myself though. I have bizarre reactions to so many different psych meds. Serequel works really well but gives me strange dreams and when I wake up I can't tell the dream from reality for a little bit but then get back on track. It doesn't seem to affect other people that way. Good Luck!!! I will be praying for you! Hang in there! Take care and God Bless! Guest guest
When I took Abilify, I gained 30 pounds in 2 weeks. As soon as I stopped the med, I lost all the weight.
