I am newly diagnosed with RA and I am experiencing alot of pain in my

feet, especially the balls of my feet and my toes. I seem to be

scrutinizing every little ache and pain and wondering if it is related to

RA. A few months ago I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it but

I seem to notice everything right now. Do any of you ever feel like you

toes are about to cramp up? That is how I have been feeling for the last

couple of days. I don't actually have any cramping in my toes or feet,

just the feeling.......if that makes any sense. I have been on Plaquinil

since Tuesday, but I don't notice any improvement, if anything my feet

feel a little worse each day. Is this one of those medications where

first things get worse before they get better?

Hi Lori,

I am sorry to hear your dx of RA. It's overwhelming when first dx.

I have a lot of problems with my feet, mostly in my toes. Also, have

the big ugly joints sticking out on both side of my feet. Not a

pretty sight:( The Plaquenil can take awhile before starting to

work, sometimes up to 3 months, so hang in there. I hope it starts

working soon. Sometimes a doc will add methotrexate with it.

Good luck, Tawny
