Guest guest
Hello out there! (Marta, Jo? are you awake???) Dr. K has prescribed ADEKs. I remember I tried these before I was told to take them about a year ago. I hate chewing them! Now that he insists I make these part of my daily routine, I want to know if I can just swallow them down with water and let them disolve once they are in me? They just give me a belly ache if I chew them, it would be so much easier if I didn't have to. Please let me know. Thanx, Deb :-)
Guest guest
Well, I think that is the whole point of ADEKs, that they are chewable and water miscible. If you chew them you make the particles smaller, faster, than if you just swallow them. It has not excaped my notice, however, that they are shaped for easy swallowing. You can bargain with the devil, I suppose, and take more of them and swallow instead of chew. That sounds like something I would come up with, lol. Marta with lab troubles, not the best example for anyone to follow!
Guest guest
The word has always been ADEKs need to be chewed. Perhaps you can experiment with chewing them and eating something to coat the tummy at the same time to avoid the nausea???? Also...try the dissolve test. Drop the tablet into warm water and see how long it takes it to dissolve. If it mostly dissolves in 30 min. then go ahead and swallow whole.
