Guest guest
, We have a licensed accupuncturists on this list and I Hope she will see this and come in and explain to us what 'may' have caused your treatments to get progressively more painful. Dr Berkson uses IV Vit c along with IV Alpha Lipoic Acid and it seems to be very helpful in repairing some of the liver damage those of us with hep c have. Alpha Lipoic Acid is very important for the body's ability to manufacture glutathione which is the most important enzyme in the liver.. and Vit C is good for the immune system.. They DO help altho they dont put the virus into remission.. they can help the liver to at least maintain where its at and not get worse. Im hoping that our gal on the list will see this and come on and explain more about how accupuncture can help with liver issues.. hugs jax Subject: Re: Rob AccupunctureTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 7:47 AM Dr. Hart my acupuncturist is very good. Oh I knew it was working once she stuck those needles in my feet! In about 10 seconds I could literally feel the electrical current going back and forth between my legs and feet. It hurts like a son of a gun but she said it would get better. 4 weeks 2 times a week I went and it just got progressively more painful so that was the end of that treatment. There is a foot bath thing I can do but I was at that time looking for a treatment so moved on to a chiropractor, who I still use and the local quack Alternative MD who wanted to give me IV Vitamin C at $125.00 a pop! See ya LOLI settled on traditional medicine with plans of using alternatives to heal the damage from the poison I am taking once I am done with whatever it is Mayo Clinic plans to do to me.>> THank you for your support. Guest guest
Jay, are you saying that antidepressants wreck the ability to manufacture glutathione or cannot wreck it,, I wasnt sure what you are saying,, but we can find some research on it hopefully and let you know soon,, yep, Liz knows exactly where to look for stuff.. she's the best researcher! jax Subject: Re: Rob AccupunctureTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Thursday, January 15, 2009, 1:24 PM Jackie,Speaking of glutathione I read that some anti-depressants can'tdestroy it, at least effexor. Guest guest
Jay, there are some folks who can incorporate both at the same time,, I did,, I did the standard allopathic tx and still took my Liver Essentials and my CMplex.. and I believe that the two alternative supplements really helped me to be successful on tx because the docs gave me NO chance of ever reaching svr and only a 10-15% chance of even responding to treatment... but you have to be very careful and you have to work with someone who is very knowlegible about how to work it together.. hugs, jax Subject: Re: Rob AccupunctureTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Thursday, January 15, 2009, 1:18 PM and Rob,From what I understand one ought to do alternative or traditionaltreatments, either or, but not at the same time. I learned that from avery knowledgeable person in another group. My problem is theinsurance will not pay for alternative. I have had hep c since 1989and am genotype 3. My treatment would only be 6 mos., but being highlydepressed I can't even do that. Jay> >> > THank you for your support.
