Dr Berkson,

Hi

I'm on my way home from Dr Berkson. I don't know yet exactly what I think about how it has affected my health. Since most of my labs that I took before I started treatment were normal or near normal--there was not much to improve (liver wise). I had been taking his recommended supplements for 10 months before I came and will continue takng them.

In the treatment room, which has 12 recliners, I heard stories of wonderful recoveries from people who have immune system diseases and had been given a year or so to live or are crippled by MS and such. They have been in remission for several years and are feeling ok to really good. A couple of Hep C non-responders are feeling better and their labs show the liver is healing. Sooo, I believe his treatment is very helpful (works) for most with immune system disease, but may not be necessary for those who are not very sick. They/we can probably do just as well on his supplements and diet, which I will post, and exercise. I would suggest that it will improve quality of life and promote liver healing in all, but is more important for those in stage 3 and 4, who need the boost of IV treatment--and in non-responders who have some damage from the conventional treatment. According to his nurses, some

have avoided transplant with the IV treatment and some have gone on to transplant. I have just started the low dose naltrexone for my rheumatoid arthritis, so have no comment on that yet.

The cost of this treatment is $125 per IV and those in poor health stay for 20 IV's. I took 8 IV treatments. This cost is NOT covered by insurance. Your insurance MAY cover the Dr visit and labs. There is also the cost of travel and motel. So this treatment is not only a personal choice, it is also a financial choice. Those given a few months to a few years to live do not consider it a choice and find a way. The rest of us can try the supps and monitor our disease and have time to decide if this is something we want to try. As I wrote earlier, my labs were in great shape with just his supplements. I have recently had 2 CT scans (for kidney stones) and my liver looked fine in the both scans.
