Guest guest
-Suzie, It's a very healthy diet no matter which way you look at it. I wonder why no " iceberg lettuce " ? I've been trying to up my vegs. & working on more fruits. For years I haven't been very into meat because I noticed it was hard on my stomach and is still very hard for me to digest. Thanks again for the info. Have a safe trip home...Debbie-- In Hepatitis_C_Central , Suzi Q wrote: > > > > > This is Dr Berkson's recommended diet. > > > > > > > > Subject: Dr. Berkson's Recommended Diet > > > INTEGRATIVE MEDICAL CENTER OF NEW MEXICO > > NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM > > > > > >
Guest guest
My uneducated guess would be because iceberg lettuce is mainly water and has very little vitamin value compared to romaine and other lettuces...is that a word? lol > > > > > > > > > > This is Dr Berkson's recommended diet. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Subject: Dr. Berkson's Recommended Diet > > > > > > INTEGRATIVE MEDICAL CENTER OF NEW MEXICO > > > > NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Hi Suzi! I am new to this list, and wanted to touch base with someone else who has done Dr. Berkson's treatment. I did Berkson's regimen for 9 IV treatments and went from a viral count of 1,156,553 copies/ml to a count of 647! I am being treated by a local doctor in my area who was a regular family practitioner for many years, who had a change of heart about the way traditional medicine was treating symptoms and not getting to the root of problems.. He went back and became an osteopath, and is now doing some wonderful progressive medicine. He is very whole health oriented, and very into nutrition and supplementation. He knew of Berkson's work and is the one who gave me the IV treatments. He has tried to get in touch with him regarding where to go from here with me, but evidently has not heard back from him. Right now I am continuing to take Alpha Lipoic acid, Selenium and Milk Thistle specifically for the Hep C. I also take Vitamin D, Fish Oil and calcium for general health, and I try to eat healthy (the Berkson diet yu posted was very helpful - I had not seen that!) Right now I am 51, have had the Hep C since I was probably 20. My last biopsy was 6 years ago, and there was no significant damage. I tried the Pegasys/Copeg treatment 5 years ago in a clinical trial, cleared at Week 24 and relapsed within the first 30 days. I was very unhappy with the trial provider, long story if anyone is interested I will go into it. Basically I feel that my treatment was compromised and that my care was substandard (I never once even saw or met the doctor who was running the trial - everything was done by the nurse coordinator, including dosage reductions, refusal to allow me to continue on Procrit even though it was working, etc) I don't know how this webiste is oriented or if it is a problem to talk about alternative treatments. If so, please e-mail me and maybe we can talk about it "offline". Thanks - hope you are doing well! Guest guest
Hi , Yes, we are friendly to discussions about Alternative medicines. Not everyone can or will do treatment. When our member finds a alternative means of staying healthy then we welcome the information. The only thing we ask that you do not try to sell any products here. That is not what we are about. We are not a sales forum. And I am sure that is not what you are about anyway. Just wanted to state some of the guidelines. We have several members who have done Dr. Berkson's treatments and are doing well with them. So it is something to think about. Guest guest
, its fine to discuss alternative treatments here,, we just like everyone to know that 'so far', there is nothing alternative that can put this virus into remission as standard tx can.. but we know there are many ppl who either cannot tx or choose not to tx with standard tx and they also need help in managing their liver health.. So we're fine with discussions as long as no one is playing Doc and trying to prescribe etc.. welcome to the group hon and I, for one, am very interested in hearing about your tx with dr. berkson,, jaxSubject: Re: FW: Dr. Berkson's Recommended DietTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2009, 8:55 AM Hi Suzi!
