Guest guest
hi Janet I hope everything goes well for you. I am sending you all my love and strength. love don in kansas Subject: Just a updateTo: hepatitis_c_central Date: Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 7:01 AM Going for my liver biopsy today. I have been so busy getting ready for this biopsy. At work and at home. Been getting my ducks in a row at work, trying to get everything done so that I don't come back to a truckload of stuff. And of course naturally, yesterday we got a order in and I all by myself, priced everything. Rearranged the store room. And put the products on the shelf. It is probably hard for you to understand, but I am a desk clerk, but I also run the store (sundries store) kind of like a convenience store there in the hotel. Ours is the biggest store in our Air Force hotels at Lackland AFB. Mainly because our hotel is detached from the base, on the former AFB. Long story. And getting the house cleaned after work. And my sugar levels decided this week to go out of control. I took my blood sugar Sunday night and it was 400. I had to get the insulin out and give myself a great big shot. I had been controlling my diabetes with diet. But I have to admit, haven't been taking my blood sugar levels as I should have. Just hit and miss. Had to go back on insulin, good thing I have it. Been keeping pretty good track of it the last couple of days. Ughhhh. Guest guest
Had sedation with this biopsy. Woke up in the recovery room and told the nurse they didn't do anything yet. She laughed and said, but Janet they did. I pulled up my gown to see and sure enough There was the bandaid. LOL Will get the results in a week or so. Had lots of blood drawn, Ptt, CBC,a PCR,Chem 7,Chem 12 and other things I can't remember right now, because it is 3:30 in the morning here. I got woke up because my husbands work called. He forgot to turn in keys to his work. He went on a emergency call and forgot them. He can turn them in when he goes to work. Lord. Guest guest
Every thing went well Joyce. A piece of cake. A little sore around the biopsy site. I woke up in the recovery room. I had the conscious sedation this time. I could have done it with a local. But I said to myself, what the heck. I was awake last time, I don't need to know what they are doing. The nurses and I were talking about the Hooter's girls(long story, but the guys would love it) when I was getting ready for the procedure. The next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room. Didn't even realize I had the procedure yet. Was arguing with the nurse. She thought I was funny. I was like no way. She said Yes way. LOL I even got lunch there. Man it was good. I am a diabetic, so I hadn't eaten all day and had took my shot that morning. If you ever have to be in the hospital, go to the Methodist Hospital and Transplant center. I recommend the food there. Guest guest
My husband said I was freaking laugh out loud funny. I was arguing with the nurse whether or not I had the procedure, when I first came awake. I woke up real fast when she told me to take a deep breath. Owiee. Felt like someone punched me in the tummy. Then I laughed. Because sure enough I had the procedure. The hospital gives you these cool socks to keep your feet warm. I am wearing them now. Feet are warm and toasty. And non skid. Guest guest
That " Versed " is the absolute BEST drug ever invented and used in anesthesia! I may just go for another biopsy since they are willing to use this now...that little bit of valium whatever did me no good the first time. Guest guest
I'm sure she may know but I was ASSuming that was what they used. Whenever I had to have my subclavian ports put in for my plasma pherisis treatments, that is what they used (the last two times) and it was heaven!! The docs also used it when I would have the facet injections...that is how I found out about it to begin with. No hangover. No drugged feeling. No nausea or vomiting when you wake up...it's short acting but absolutely heaven for doing a biopsy! Who knows,by now they could have more drugs like this one...I'm getting old ya know (lol) > > > > Had sedation with this biopsy. Guest guest
so glad it all went well,, yup,, 'conscious sedation' is the ONLY way to go,, Going for my liver biopsy today. Ughhhh. Guest guest
Oh lord! I can only imagine what an allergic reaction would be like with that and how does one know how their body will react to any medication...it's scary sometimes. My husband can't take even one tylenol...he gets a pain in his side that we've never figured out what it is. Everyone reacts so differently to things and I'm sure the HepC complicates that even more. Definitely stay away from the Versed! > > > > > > Had sedation with this biopsy. Woke up in the recovery room and told > > the nurse they didn't do anything yet. Whenever I had to have my subclavian ports put in for my plasmapherisis treatments, that is what they used (the last two times) andit was heaven!! The docs also used it when I would have the facet injections.. .that ishow I found out about it to begin with. No hangover. No drugged feeling. No nausea or vomiting when you wakeup...it's short acting but absolutely heaven for doing a biopsy!Who knows,by now they could have more drugs like this one...I'mgetting old ya know (lol)> >> > Had sedation with this biopsy.
