Hi everyone,It has been a long time since I have been in touch but I am very happy(and grateful) that my Interferon and Ribavirin treatment hascompletely removed HCV from my body. I had 1 and 3, went to notdetectable after 4 weeks and stayed there throughout treatment. Mygastroenterologist has told me I am completely clear and from here onin I will be doing my best to stay clear and to support others in mylocal area through a volunteer buddy system... to all the old-timerswho were here when I first came in... thank you all forever for yoursupport and encouragement when I had so many doubts and concerns earlyon.... Bless you all and may everyone here in this group that I havenot yet met have the best possible outcome for your circumstances. ..CheersRobSydney Australia

I took it for the last 6 weeks of my treatment, I started out on Scherrings interferon and had an additional 12 weeks added and was doing roche's product,, I only got to 6 weeks of the 12 scheduled and had to stop,, so I did 54 weeks of interferon and riba... I've been clear now53/4 years since I finished tx and was clear at week12, so that makes me clear 6 years now..

THanks Bob,

Yes, it can be beat. No-one was more suprised than me because when I

started the odds were 50/50 for killing off Type 1 and 80/20 for type 3.

I thought that at best that I could suppress the viral load far enough

so that when a more advanced treatment came along I could do that one

as well. To be completely clear is a possible reality, especially when

one considers I have carried this virus for over 30 years
