Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I have not fallen off the face of the earth but I have been hiding out in a quiet room trying to get some studying done. Unfortunately I'm not as far as long as I'd hope to be by now. I guess it comes as no surprise that my Brag for the year is finaly figuring out what I want to do with my life. Many of you know that I have been rather unhappy/bored with my job over most of the year and I spent a lot of time wondering what it was I really wanted to do. It took a lot of soul searching and a huge shove in the right direction from a couple of friends to finally realize that what I really like to do is working out and helping people....... So I took a huge leap and signed up for a Personal Trainers Certification Course. I considered putting it off until the New Year figuring I wasn't nearly ready enough to tackle this right before Christmas but I thought of going all the way to Houston to training camp with and I thought that HEY I can do it too! Right after I made the decision to take the course, in fact it was the day I got confirmation that I was enrolled, I found out that was going to be in Toronto for a few days teaching classes. I spent a wonderful day in Toronto and was blessed to spend a fair amount of time with Trevor which really boosted my self esteem and self confidence. I mentioned to that I was planning on becoming a Personal Trainer and that I wanted to work with people out of their homes, specifically people who have never worked out or have become sedentary through excessive weight gain or injury or illness. He gave me a huge hug and told me that it was a very special path I was taking and that it would be full of special people. I have completed the four day course and have the dreaded Theory exam on the 13th of January and if I pass that (ie get 80%) then I can schedule my practical exam. Oh yeah did I mention that somewhere in there I have to get my CPR, in order to get the results of my theory exam! I have however come up with a slogan for my " business " " Functional Training for Active Living " Thanks to everyone here for all their support and motivation over the past year. Instead, prepare yourself in every way you can by increasing your knowledge and adding to your experience, so that you can make the most of opportunity when it occurs.
