Wowza I'm so excited I have my appointment for my pannilectomy with Dr K on

August 18

I will be driving from Houston this weekend to get there in time for a Tuesday

(July 26) appt (consultation) ... It's a 25 hour drive but I cannot afford the

750.00 ticket and the two tickets I will have to buy next month for my daughter

and I to fly out for my surgery, so my boy and I will switch off and make the

trip.... Two 12 hour days in the car both ways .... we should have some good

bonding time :o) I'd love to hook up with any of you locals for a visit - I'm

hoping we get into Bakersfield Monday and my appt is Tuesday afternoon. If

anyone has some free time please let me know and we can arrange a visit!

Please pray for insurance approval! My husband has just been offerred a new job

and he wants to take it - if he does we will lose the insurance money - but we

have decided to move forward with it anyway! Not sure what that will mean

financially, but we are putting it in God's hands and praying for the best!

Anyway, I'm sorry to ramble on - just got the news today and can't believe its

going to happen so quickly (they had a cancellation)

Kim (Houston, TX)

drive, great consultation, close bonding.... So when is your surgery? Will you

be at the pool party? I'll be praying for that insurance overage. Please let

us know about it all. Betsy

Kim,

I hope we can get together while you are here. I probably won't be at

my new job for another three weeks at least.

Regarding the job change, you should take the COBRA insurance. It is

a good deal compared to having an emergency and no insurance.

Betsy,

I know - you know how I felt :o) READY !!! I'm not driving, my mom couldn't

stand the idea - so she bought me a plane ticket, I'm flying into LA on Tuesday

and driving down that day - and then driving back to LA that night for a Wed

morning flight home

Surgery is scheduled for Aug 18th - will arrive on 17th for pre op - Staying at

Bakersfield Extended Stay with my daughter through the 27th

That's all the details I know for now! Thanks for the encouragement!

Kim, I am working again, at my new parttime job. It is in Tipton

and Pixley which are close to Delano, but docs never get lunches. I

am pulling 9am to 8pm shifts. We can get together when you are here

in August, though. Call me anyway, we can talk.

Well, if you do not go without coverage, then they will cover pre-

existing conditions. Do yourself a favor and check it out. My BC

policy covered my TT and just my co-pays added up to thousands of

dollars so I am very grateful they paid most of it. Mine was

medically necessary, no tricks involved.

Kim,

Have you ever made the drive from LA to Delano?

If you haven't, then let me tell you, it is no picnic! If you've never made

it before, it is a pretty drive the first time you take it, then it is a pain

in the ass.

We've made it twice now, round-trip, and next time I come, I'll be flying into

b-town!

good luck,

le

I'm flying into LA on Tuesday and driving down that day

Marta,

I've got the insurance submitted already by a plastic surgeon from Houston - of

course after spending the evening with Dr K - he convinced me that he should do

it - I called the office and they will resubmit everything after my visit next

week - not likely to get approved before the surgery on the 18th - so I will

probably cover it and then HOPEFULLY, insurance will pay -

I absolutely could not believe the price she quoted me for the Panni/TT - and I

hope this is correct - but she said 5k - 6k for everything.... the PS here in

Houston quoted me 14K - so that is less than half (I'm a math wizard you

know)... anyway, I'm very excited about getting this off and hoping it starts

the weight loss up again.

Sorry you can't meet up - but congrats on the job. I am really only going to

have a few hours as I will be heading by to LA after my appt to get there before

dark and get settled in my room ... too scared to go roaming around LA by myself

- I guess I've seen too many movies :o) ...
