Yes, it does pass, but it makes the first part of pregnancy pretty

horrible. The best advice I can give you is eat what you feel like in

this period. If that means eating junk food, well be it!! The

nutrients your baby needs now, are the nutrients that you were

consuming before becoming pregnant. All that matters now is the

consumption of adequate amounts of calories! Once the nausea and

vomiting pass (usually at about 12 to 16 weeks of pregnancy), you can

resume a more adequate diet!

Hope this helps

Were you this sick with the first one ? Could it be twins? :) Can your doctor give you anything for it? I remember when I was pregnant, my doctor gave out these pressure point wrist band things that you wear like a bracelet. It is supposed to help I guess. My friend swears by eating saltines first thing after waking up in the morning, before even sitting up in bed. She kept a big box of crackers on her night stand. Maybe that would help? I hope you feel better really soon!!

Congrats, kinda late but better late than never. I havent really been following posts lately well actually since my surgery, just popping in every now and again. When I was expecting my first, I was constantly feeling what they call "morning sickness" but all day the whole 40 weeks and after about 4 weeks I realized that the darn crackers, or trying to take my pre nates at different times wasn't helping one bit. So finally instead of trying to curb the nausea I just let my self get sick once, (in the actually morning or as soon as I felt it) and then I was fine the rest of the day. It truly helps becasue the more crackers I ate the nausea just kept comming back.

hope it helps, and hope you feel better.

Can totally sympathize with the 3 year old running around, My daughter was 2 1/2 when I had my son and boy talk about one expecting mother who could'nt rest.

Take care of yourself.

Morning sickness is a thirst signal of both the fetus & the mother.

During the intrauterine stage of cell expansion, water for the fetus'

cell growth has to be provided by the mother. One of the first

indicators for water needs of the fetus & the mother seems to be

morning sickness during the first trimester of pregnancy.

I find if I do that it helps too. Just let it go then try to eat and keep

that food down.

Crackers are nauseating LOL!!

I found that crackers were one of the worst things I could eat... They

would make me even more nautious!!! The other thing that helped me I

just remembered, was eating very small amounts of food about every 2

hours. I would eat containers of baby food (fruits mostly, without

sugar), then I got into the hot dog period where I would eat only hot

dogs lunch and supper. I had an aversion to many foods until the end

of pregnancy (like fish and red meat).

The anti-nausea medications also helped me a bit. You have to take

them before going to bed in order to not feel sleepy the next day.

The best advice though, is do what works for you... and hang in

there!!

who hated pregnancy, partly because of morning sickness
