Finally after six months, I have seen the scale numbers go down!! I weighed myself the day I started my journal (Saturday) and I was four pounds heavier than I am today! I don't think I lost four real pounds in a week though. When I weighed myself Saturday, I was two pounds heavier than usual, which was probably bloating or something. But I do think I lost a true two pounds! Yay!! I am on my way!!

:) who is happy to be in the groove again and can't wait for my replacement VCR to show up so I can get back to Tae-Bo!!

Yey !

Like, you, I started using a food journal this week too. I have gained some weight this Fall---due to lack of consistent exercise and crappy food intake (I let my busy schedule get the best of me).

Sunday is my weigh-in.

Congrats!!! :)

Congratulations, ! Now put that scale away for good! I didn't realize

you are still without a VCR. What a bummer. Thank goodness you have the

marathon training.

Thanks! I know how inaccurate scales are, but I have decided to weigh in once a week, just to hold myself accountable. If this scale misehaves or if I get obsessive again, it will meet the same fate as the last one! LOL!

Congratulations ! Hey - 2 lbs is a great loss, especially

after the scale hasn't moved for some time.

Ann Marie - who while on WW gained 4 lbs from " bloating " and got a

nasty look from the lady who recorded the weight; then took off 6 lbs

the very next week and had the last word!

Yeah on seeing the scale number go down...thats an awsome feeling..I

don't own a scale but I can only hope that by my cloths getting

loser..something is going away whether it be fat or pounds...I'm gonna check

into that brocolli and cheese you mentioned..however, I hate to do this..but

I have to see what the fat content is..that is my main concern...I don't

usually go heavy in the calorie department, therefore I have been cutting

back on fat grams which for me has made a world of difference..not to

mention..i have a sensitive stomach and eating less fatty foods has really

helped..so, if it isn't loaded w/ fat I'm gonna get some cuz I'm a bad veggie

eater otherwise...

Anyways, long winded here but wanted to say Way to Go!!!!

The cauliflower has 180 calories and 7.5 grams of fat in the whole box. Of the 7.5 grams of fat, only 1.5 g is saturated. The broccoli may be slightly higher, just by a gram or so. Remember that some fat is good, it's the saturated that you really need to keep an eye on.

:) who had the mixed veggies with cheese for lunch yesterday! Yum!!

hate to rain on yout parade but trans fat from hydrogenated oils is worse

than saturated fat which I suspect may be in this product

Oh well, we can't all eat perfectly:) all of the time. I doubt some cheese sauce on some broccoli is going to kill me. I am sure I was eating a lot worse before I discovered them. :)

I use olive oil, which is actually GOOD FOR YOU. I take olive oil, about, I dunno, 2-3 tablespoons, heat it on low-medium (it heats quickly!) and add the same amount of flour . . . mix it. Once thickened, add milk and shredded cheese! I also add ground mustard and whatever else I feel like, and I usually use different cheeses.

Sounds good! I may try that someday :) The thing is, I am pretty lazy and love to just throw things in the microwave! LOL! :) who just ran six miles in the snow for my marathon training!

Being a broccoli smothered with cheese sauce lover, I must interject! , you can have even YUMMIER cheese sauce, and save money, AND be way healthy, by making it at home. This way, you get as much cheese sauce as you want. Meanwhile, Brava! on moving into healthier eating. It's a process.

I'm sorry I thin that you're fooling yourself, I don't think that

anything that laden with fat could be remotely considered healthy,

and although olive oil is supposedly better for you is it still 100%

fat, and most cheeses rack up a high ratio of calories from fat. And

2-3 tablespoons thats up to 400 calories alone..ouch

Jill

who's glad to be intolerant to cheese and lots of high fat dairy

foods, so healthy eating is a lot easier to choose.

Sandie! I'm glad you find that useful. If it looks too thick while cooking,

before adding the cheese, add a little water. Same thing if you want to

reheat it, just add some water. I like to experiment with stuff, I throw a

little paprika in there at times . . . .depending on my mood.

YOU. Jill, trust your research and experience, I'll trust mine.
