Guest guest
Hi Everyone, After posted about natural ways to get ALA, I decided to see what I could find about the idea of English walnuts. It stated the recommended dosage by food was 2,200 mg a day. It stated that 1 gram of English walnuts supplies 6800 mg. Let's see 1 gram =3.5 oz.So I could get my daily supply with a little over an ounce of English walnuts each day. And Brazil nuts supply selenium. www.nutsonline.com has interesting info on nutritional value of nuts and what they supply. So maybe I should eat my favorite salad of baby greens with walnuts and a few dried cranberries spritzed with raspberry vinagrette dressing on a regular basis. Then munch on a few Brazil nuts daily. This might be an option for those who have problems with pill forms. Of course, you could also make brownies loaded with walnuts---but not sure that would be a recommended health food. Cheers, SuziQ
