Guest guest
Hi All... Well, the dx from two professionals is 'Bipolar 2 Rapid Cycling'. Actually, it does explain a lot about some of the problems in my life, including the horrendous 'insomnia' that has landed me in the hospital more than once. I am now on a mood stabilizer called " Lamictal " which does not have many side effects, but one serious, though rare one. It is called something like '-' syndrome, and it is a rash and fever that if untreated turns into a dermatological necrosis and can be fatal. Now, it is VERY rare. But my drs have told me that it can 'feel' like the start of an RA flare...low grade fever at beginning, aching, then the rash. So, I am told if I feel like I am flaring to watch especially for rash anywhere on my body and get to an ER. I have been getting 'some' sleep since the Lamictal has reached a therapeutic dose. It is kind of mixed up sleep...half asleep, half awake...and up for a couple hours during the middle of the night, but compared to a month ago, it is a major blessing. And if the med continues to work, it should get better. I am feeling some hope that these mental health issues might be properly diagnosed, and perhaps there will be some improvement in my life, in my living. Love to all... Guest guest
Tess I'm praying this is the answer to your sleepless nights. There is nothing worse than laying awake at night praying for sleep. Hopefully you will continue to sleep better and not have any side effect problems. a On Dec 6, 2005, at 12:27 AM, Grammi B wrote: > Hi All... > Well, the dx from two professionals is 'Bipolar 2 Rapid > Cycling'. Guest guest
Tess, I hope you find the comfort that you need. Sleep is so important. It can affect us so much. And for those of us who deal with emotional and physical problems, its sometimes even hard to tell what comes first the insomnia or the problem. Take care of yourself. God bless and be well. kerri sue Grammi B <grammi_love@...> wrote: Hi All... Well, the dx from two professionals is 'Bipolar 2 Rapid Cycling'. Guest guest
I'm glad that the new med is working for you! Sleep is so important! A couple of months ago they tried me on Remiron and I had an allergic reaction. I have reactions to alot of those types of meds. that is why I'm so hesitant. I apologize if I offended you the other day when I mentioned that they were trying to treat me for bi-polar and that I'm BPD instead. I didn't mean it like it came off. It is just that my counselor changes her mind on my diagnosis with every class she is currently taking. Diagnosing me is not her place and that is what was upsetting me. Please accept my apology! I am very sensitive about mental health issues. Take care and God Bless! Kim --- Grammi B <grammi_love@...> wrote: > Hi All... > Well, the dx from two professionals is 'Bipolar 2 > Rapid Cycling'.
