challenges I can get pretty creative and so far my hands do fine in the morning

on

Thanksgiving.but I always worry.....and my kids, I always worry they might get

burned getting

the turkey out of the oven for me....

On adapting...

My female pup (Charlie - 5 months old) broke one of her back legs

when she was only 3.5 months old! It was pathetic! The vet put a

very large splint on her leg that went from her hip all the way down

& covered even her little toes! We couldn't imagine how she was

going to get around...her leg was completely immobolized &

this 'splint' had to weight 5 pounds!!

Well, as soon as the vet set her down on the floor, she adapted! She

just kind of hiked her leg up & off to one side & ran around as if

she didn't have a care in the world!!

Yes, Lynn...it's funny how we can adapt to almost any situation!!

more on adapting.

our cat also broke her leg as a young kittne.it healed crooked even tho it had

been set and splinted...she runs up and down our stairs with that back leg set

way out to the side.it looks funny, but she has never slowed down.

My son, with his eye...well, he has no vision in it since his surgery in first

week of Nov.but it sure has not even slowed down this 10 year old....he adapted

so well and so fast.....I envy the resilience of youth!

I think I could adapt better if my flaring body parts ever stayed in the same

place, but, gosh even when it is the same body part, it seems it moves just a

little to a different side of the same joint and what worked previously does not

work now. Like my wrist, sometimes it makes it so I cannot use my thumb, then

next time it makes it so I cannot use my pinky, then next time it pulls my

fingers into a fist and next time it pulls to my elbow. Even tho all those I

complain it is my wrist.....it seems it is just ever changing. In between

moving to the other wrist or a knee or a shoulder or an ankle....
