YES, YES and YES !

Vivki,

I cannot eat poppy seeds at all ! They sent me to the ER last year

after my DS and they thought I had I had obstruction. But after two

morphine shots, yes two morphine shots things were okay and the

intestines relaxed....I had terrible diarrhea and sweating etc and then

I felt better. Doc called it " a pending obstruction " diverted. They

kept me overnight for observation and then I got to go home in the

a.m. I do not know why they do it, but I no longer eat them !

Vicki, I know YOU were eating muffins, but Ginger just said she can't

eat poppy seeds, that they sent her to the ER for morphine and she

was told she had a near obstruction. Now, they are pretty tiny

things so what mechanism would be causing the obstruction? Her

symptoms sound like dumping syndrome.

Hi Marta!

Just wanted to mention that eating any kinds of seeds can cause the

same symptoms in my mom. She can also get blood in her stool. She

can't eat tomatoes, strawberries, poppy seeds, rasberries... you get

the idea. Maybe the seeds irritate the lining?

Lee,

The numb mouth thing is a fun thing for you? Silly chickie! I have gotten

addicted to a bread up here put out by a " local " Oregon company called Western

Hazelnut Bread.

It has all kinds of seeds and nuts in it. I love to toast and butter it, then

sprinkle brewer's yeast on it to give it a rich, nutty flavor! Yummy!
