Guest guest
Hi again.. Im debbie, Its nice to meet all of you.. I had previously asked a question about nodes under the skin near the joints. Was wondering if anyone else experienced them.I give all you guys credit for dealing with everything. Im currently on 10 meds a day now for things that all hit me when i was 18-19... got put on the meds as things got kinda figured out.. so im sure more meds are on the way.My daughter even was diagnosed with the skin form of lupus when she was 4.. had blisters as soon as she went outside then they grew and just pooped.. shes having alot of joint problems now... But no one will actually say ra or lupus or what... Both our ana come back abnormal... ive been looking for answers for years... she needs the answers now.. i dont want her to go thru all this.. Heres another question ..??? has anyone with a high ana been told they would not have much a chance to get pregnant??? i was told it was a slim chance for my daughter... Funny thing is i had to go thru alot of fertility crap to be able to even have her.. I feel for what she may go thru cause i know what ive had to endure!! And you guys are right no one understands.. if i say i cant do a specific job at work, they just laugh and say yeah right.. As i mentioned in another e-mail ive had about 11 surgeries for diff things so everyone just assumes im tough and can get thru anything, But no i cant .. i sit and cry to get it off my chest ... it isnt always easy.I can honestly say there is no one i know who understands. Im very glad i found this group... Ive been reading up on lots of info you guys have given...you guys are the best... debbie --------------------------------- DSL Something to write home about. Guest guest
Debbie, have both you and your daughter been to a dermatologist for an investigation into your skin involvement? Your description of your subcutaneous nodules (tender, marble-sized, go away in about a week) doesn't sound like rheumatoid nodules; however, rheumatoid arthritis and lupus both have other cutaneous manifestions. Not an MD I'll tell you where to go! Mayo Clinic in Rochester http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester s Hopkins Medicine http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org Re: [ ] Glad you are all here > Hi again.. Guest guest
hi. Ive gone to the dermatologist for years for many wierd skin things. Ive been through alot of biopsies and alot of differential diagnoses. I also had mout ulcers and rashes and also vaginal sores which my gyno only looked and said oh its probably Herpes , which really made me cry alot... But i new in my head it wasnt but there was always a what if it is... But it wouldnt go away so i went to the derm. and she did biopsies and told me no it wasnt, and that there were alot of auto immune things that can cause this... (My doc says hes keeping a book about me cause of all the wierd things ive been thru.)He knows if i say somethin is wrong somethin is wrong...I also get sores like styes all over my eyes about 7 at a time .. They thought at first it was behcets.. my derm. was very intrigued by my symptoms.. I also was asked if i grew up near any toxic chem. areas. but anyways after hunting 5 yrs for a rheumy, (we have a shortage here)..He diagnosed me as ra. but probably some type of mixed connective tissue disease.. He put me on plaquenil and thank god after about 3 months on it all my sores and rashes went away... i get a couple spots in a flare up but nothin much. he told me the nodes go along with the inflamtion process but that was all he said. my daughter rf and ana pos. since she was 4 when she got diagnosed with discoid lupus. she doesnt get the nodes yet...Just the bad knees and ankles .. like thats not enough.I get surgery on my arm in feb. They have to clean out my elbow and do something with the tendonand do wrist surgery. hopin that will help one part of my body.. Take care and thanks...
