Guest guest
Hi everyone This is Doreen again, I wanted to ask anyone if they have had similar situations when you first got tested for the ra and fibro .When I got the first tests about three years ago it was high but the ra dr said no I didnt' have it and thought maybe it was some fibro but nothing worthi worring about then. Since then I have had three testings done each time is higher and higher last one was 1030 on the ra factor. THe ra dr said he is trying to rule it out but that there is a new blood test to find out for sure if you have ra or will have problems in the future. So I will find out Thursday. What has other's experienced in the trials of the begining diagnosis? Doreen
Guest guest
Doreen, I know my GP let my high sed rate got unchecked for over two years. I self referred to a rheummy who dx'd me based on exam. Later blood work showed negative RF factor and ANA. So I am one of those people that the blood work shows NO antibodies for RA, or Lupus. I was told by more than one rheummy as well as the info I have read that there is NO definative test for RA. The dx is made based on exam, symptoms, labs, xrays and for some response to meds. If there is a new blood test that can tell you for sure if you have RA or any autoimmune disease I would love to know what it is so I can talk to my r heummy about it. The rheummy I am currently seeing is big into research....so I will also ask him if he has heard of anything. I am curious is a rheummy telling you this and ignorring your blood work or is this a GP that is doing this? Toni In a message dated 11/27/2005 5:39:57 A.M.
