Guest guest
Congradulations on the drug study. Don;t worry about giving yourself a shot. I use humeria , and give myself a shot every week. I do in the the stomache, around the bellybutton. I have lots of fat there to pinch. The needles are so sharp don;t really even feel it. I make sure to take my drug out of the fridge for about thirty minutes, before using. It burns if the medicine is to cold. So don;t freak yourself out, you can do it. I qualified for an Enbrel Drug Study. It last 2 years and EVERYTHING is paid for. All my rheumy visits and x-rays! I'm just a little (a lot) nervous about giving myself INJECTIONS!!! I HATE HATE HATE shots! I'm 23 and I still start bawling when I have to get a tetanus shot! I have to go into the Dr on Monday so they can teach me how to give myself the injections. Yikes! Also, anyone's that's been on Enbrel, were there any really nasty side-effects? Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!!
Guest guest
This is very good news, happy for you. I have been injecting Enbrel for over 2 years. In the beginning I went to my doctor's office and had his nurse do it, then one of my neighbours started doing it. I finally, after 3 months got up enough courage to do it myself and wondered how I could have been such a wuss since it is very easy. I alternate between thighs, still can't bring myself to use my stomach <VBG> although I know many people that say it is the best place for an injection. Guest guest
Ok June, now you've gone and done it. I've been on Enbrel for about 7 years and have yet to inject myself. My husband offered to do it and I just let him. All of these years I've been telling our members that the needle is a piece of cake, but all the while I never self injected so how do I really know? I've been a wuss! So today the needle was sitting there waiting for to come in from working outside so he could give me my injection. After reading your post, I decided to give myself the injection. I did it in my stomach and didn't even feel it. How right you were. Thanks for giving me the push I needed to get out of the wuss club! a On Nov 26, 2005, at 10:32 AM, June Dixon wrote: > This is very good news, happy for you. Guest guest
Is the method for that the same as with the MTX? Just curious in case things change, I will be ready. I already self inject that. I do it the rump looking in the mirror, lots of tissue back there. LOL, cassy > > > This is very good news, happy for you. Guest guest
Cassy, The method is the same for any subcutaneous injection. Subcutaneous means under the skin. Enbrel and MTX are both given subcutaneously. You're the first I've heard to give it to yourself in the rump. I say, whatever works!!!!! a On Nov 27, 2005, at 12:06 AM, cnberte wrote: > Is the method for that the same as with the MTX? Just curious in > case things change, I will be ready.
