Guest guest
Consumer Reports has found Lead and Arsenic in Apple and Grape juices(http://www.care2.com/greenliving/arsenic-and-lead-in-juice.html)Arsenic exposure is cumulative. Exposure by mouth has been linked to cancer of the skin, bladder, liver, and lung.Lead info: " Even when exposed to small amounts of lead levels, children may appear inattentive, hyperactive and irritable. Children with greater lead levels may also have problems with learning and reading, delayed growth and hearing loss. At high levels, lead can cause permanent brain damage and even death.†It also displaces calcium, zinc and iron absorption and usage. These alone are big things. They tested well known brands in the U.S. northeast. BUT most of the ingredients are imported from China as apple juice concentrate, then diluted. Here, it is assumed from the results, that although banned, they still are using Lead Arsenate as insecticides. They have been banned in the U.S. for a while, but still also remain in soils. Take Home message: Only buy organic apples, and apple and grape juice! Liora
