Guest guest
Hi Sherry, I hope you will reconsider giving your daughter Tylenol, since acetaminophen depletes vital glutathione from the body in a matter of minutes and is one of the worst possible things to give children such as ours, who already have drastically reduced glutathione levels. Consider one of the otc anti-inflammatory meds such as Motrin IB, which is both safer and has a greater affect on painful breast tissue. Another thing you can try is to rub a quarter sized amount of tincture of iodine (from the drug store) onto each breast. This can work wonders in a very short period of time. Do this until the brown spot persists overnight or for one month. Hope she feels some relief soon! > Hi I'm Sherry and was on this list for quite awhile in past years. > My dtr is 17 and has both Down Syndrome and Autism. Guest guest
I used to get really horrendous breast pain (I also at one point had actual breasts, like 32C. I'm 5'4 " and have 8 percent body fat, it all collected THERE!). I didn't get the cognitive problems, just the real witchies. And the pain. And seizures. So, with my doctor's approval after a bone density test (I've got EVERY risk factor for bad bones except being old and being a smoker, but my MOM smoked so it was like smoking for 20 years) I stopped my periods with depo-provera shots. The upside: NO PERIOD for going on 2 years. This means no bleeding, no mess, no breast pain, no seizures associated with my period (just a zillion other seizures, and Im not a candidate for surgury), and I went down a cup size! woohoo! Feature not bug since Im a gymnast when Im not shopping for seizure helmets (med switches are my friend...) The downside: If I'd had headaches or depression from it I'd have been stuck with them. And there's the whole shot thing. I HATE needles but I hate periods more. So that's something to discuss with her doctor, it could be that ESTROGEN doesn't get along with your daughter, not that MENSTRUATING itself doesnt. Hope I helped, Kassiane autistic spectrum, no one can decide exactly where. Last doctor decided PDDNOS --- gldcst2 wrote: > Hi I'm Sherry and was on this list for quite awhile > in past years. > My dtr is 17 and has both Down Syndrome and Autism. > I have read the > archives looking for an answer to our current > problem and need to > continue to read all that you have posted re:BC > pills and periods. > After years of fighting it we started her on > Seasonale this month 21 > days ago and she is having the same symptoms as she > did > before....severe cramping, pain, severe aggression, > screaming etc. I > keep being told that we won''t be seeing any > improvement till at > least 3 months but my dh and I just now decided > we've had enough. > This is too dangerous. Guest guest
I have no input, only to say I'm thinking of you & your girl and hoping she finds relief. I also wondered about the depo shot, to alleviate periods. I did try it to (for other reasons) and ended up bleeding 3 weeks a month, I was one of the very few it totally backfired on. Anyway, sending you love & hope through the 'net. Doreen Returning member/ Need help!!! Breast pain Hi I'm Sherry and was on this list for quite awhile in past years. I have read the archives looking for an answer to our current problem and need to continue to read all that you have posted re:BC pills and periods. This is too dangerous. She had some sort of weird shivering spell this AM. Anyway even before the pill but moreso these past couple of days her breasts (very tiny) are driving her crazy. Guest guest
Hello Sherry, I am so glad you decided to post! I have 5 children. My 18 year old, Bi-polar/type 1 diabetic went on this drug 2 months ago to prevent severe PMS prior and post of her periods. She has bled on 5 days each of the last 2 months. Granted that she has one more month, I am not impressed. We do have her on the generic of Seasonal which is " Quasense " . I do not know if that makes a difference but I am not impressed. We have an appointment coming up with her endocrinologist and this will be changed. She was on a generic monthly birth control for years and never had a problem with bleeding on the pill. I agree with you, something is terribly wrong and I definitely would call the doctor and get her off of that. Let us know what you decide and the outcome. Glad you decided to post. Guest guest
My Gyno suggested Depo for my 14 year old...(she is 16 now) and I refused. Some of the side effects..and the fact that when her periods are regular..which they are NOT...she is NATURALLY more aggressive and her moods are way off... I don't have her on anything.....and she is much better....but the periods themselves have a lot to do with it...her behavior. She was tested for her irregularity..but no abnormalities showed up...but I'm suspected she has PCOS...because she is starting to get a light beard on her neck...even though NO cysts were found on her ovaries....... Guest guest
Hi, Have you tried Vitex agnus castus? It is a herb that is regulating period problems. It helped me a lot when I had chronic cystitis on my breasts, it was so painful, I wanted to have them removed, but with the tincture (it has to be taken in a drink of water or juice) it was getting better. Another thing is maybe her progesterone levels are too low, and for this, the gyn could prescribe a salve that has to be applied on the breast during the 10 and 27 th day of the cycle. It helps with pain, also, and helps with water retention, too. my 2 cents, nana.

Guest guest
, Hi, it's Diane. Just curious. What would you plan to give for her cycles if you wanted to put her on the pill? I know she's waaaay to little and all, but I so value your judgement and tend to follow your advice that I'm curious what you would do for your own child. Of course, this is a personal question and you certainly don't have to answer. Diane ('s Mom) Re: Returning member/ Need help!!! Breast pain Hi Sherry, I hope you will reconsider giving your daughter Tylenol, since acetaminophen depletes vital glutathione from the body in a matter of minutes and is one of the worst possible things to give children such as ours, who already have drastically reduced glutathione levels. Guest guest
Hi Diane, You're right that I haven't really made any definite decisions about that yet -- Lord knows I've got enough to worry about as it is! -- since there are many options and variables to consider when the times comes. BUT... going on the premise, as you suggested, that if I were going to give her some form of contraceptive pill, I would most likely choose one of the lower dose tri-cyclic pills, such as Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo. and I are very much alike and I suspect that, like me, she will have an early cycle. After much experimentation, I did very well on the tri-cyclic pills, as long as I took them with food and at the same time each day. I had no side effects whatsoever taking them this way. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with this for a few more years! One thing that I already do and will continue to do is give maca root, which helps through every cycle of life, pre- pubescence through menopause. I take it myself and it makes a world of difference. > , > > Hi, it's Diane. Just curious. What would you plan to give > for her > cycles if you wanted to put her on the pill? Guest guest
Thank you everyone for all your sympathy and suggestions. I came right in to read my email this AM and was pleased to find so many responses. , <<I hope you will reconsider giving your daughter Tylenol, since acetaminophen depletes vital glutathione from the body in a matter of minutes and is one of the worst possible things to give children such as ours, who already have drastically reduced glutathione levels. Consider one of the otc anti-inflammatory meds such as Motrin IB, which is both safer and has a greater affect on painful breast tissue.>> I appreciate your wise advice; glutathione depletion is also an issue with Down Syndrome and we go round and round on DS lists about tylenol also. Unfortunately also has severe GI problems (I think she's got the worst of both worlds) and tylenol is the only thing her stomach can tolerate right now. <<Another thing you can try is to rub a quarter sized amount of tincture of iodine (from the drug store) onto each breast.>> Can you elaborate on the thinking behind the iodine treatment? is also hypothyroid and is on synthroid ( can't take armour) so she has been advised against any additional iodine. I know we use the iodine swab to test for thyroid deficiency but what is the thinking in this case? More later....she's crying again and i need to go be helpless mommy sigh Sherry
Guest guest
For years when I ovulated I was in horrible breast pain. It was just like early pregnancy for me. I did it up until I had my first child. Now once in a blue moon my breasts will hurt, other than that I don't experience it any more. I don't recall whether or not any sort of birth control pill helped or not. HTH, Debi
Guest guest
Sherry, It sounds as if your daughter is having an extremely negative reaction to the estrogen in her pills. Under normal conditions, free iodine is in high concentration in the ovaries and breast tissue, acting as a protective buffer to estrogen. Iodine-deficient breasts show changes in RNA/DNA ratios, estrogen receptor proteins, and cytosol iodine levels. Adequate tissue iodine helps guide estrogen into friendly pathways that support proper function of female sex hormones. We use a safe iodine supplement called Iosol. http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item16422.html Also, does she take selenium? When both iodine and selenium deficiency are present, this exacerbates the estrogen problems. Can you perhaps add some brazil nuts to her diet? This is one of the better ways to get adequate selenium in a natural form. > Can you elaborate on the thinking behind the iodine treatment? > is also hypothyroid and is on synthroid ( can't take armour) > so she has been advised against any additional iodine.
