Guest guest Posted December 27, 2011 Report Share Posted December 27, 2011 UCLA's Longevity Center is currently looking foradults with Down syndrome with and without dementia to participate in a study on Alzheimer's disease. Dear kathy, UCLA researchers in the department of Psychiatry under the direction of Small, M.D. are conducting a brain imaging project focused on detecting early signs of Alzheimer's disease in adults with Down syndrome age 40 and over with and without signs of dementia. Volunteers must be in good health and have no history or cerebrovasular disease, diabetes or cancer. The study involves one clinical evaluation, one memory assessment and brain imaging (PET scans and MRI). This will involve 2 or 3 visits to UCLA. There is compensation for participation.
