Guest guest
Hi Mia, We are on our 8th year of home schooling, and although it is challenging at times, I cannot imagine doing anything else. As BJ said, you have to find what works best for you and your kids because we are all different. Some kids do much better with structure in their daily routine every day of the week. Although it may be more work for you, perhaps if she had more structure on the weekends it would make Monday's more smooth since there wouldn't be much of a transition. You could plan out chores for her to do, make scheduled time for TV or videos, scheduled play time or free time (recess), and maybe even add a little school work to keep her busy and in the structure mode. It wouldn't even have to be anything too time intensive for her or you unless you wanted it to be. As home schoolers you can do what you want, when you want. Who says we have to do school M-F? Make Art a Saturday subject. Read a book to them and then have them either write something about the story you read or draw a picture about it. You could do Science on the weekends. There are some simple books out there for young elementary children with simple lessons and a fun experiment to go with it. Just a few ideas. Good luck!
