Guest guest
My almost 7 year old son saw his psychiatrist today. The only thing he decided on was to try decreasing the Zoloft as my son's OCD is really abd right now and he feels it hasn't helped him enough ( he is on 50mg) and although it revs him up he thinks he is revved up anyway ( I agree) and isn't sure what is causing his anxiety, which is so high. I spent two hours with him outside today while he cleaned snow off every car in the parking lot here. He is increasing the risperdal by giving him .25 at bedtime as well even though it doesn't make him drowsy (he refuses to believe it hypes him up). So I was wondering what a cut from 50 mg to 25 mg in Zoloft would feel like to my son and if he would have any effects from the cut? He is then going to taper him off in two months if the oCD stays the same. If it worsens he will put him back where he was. Also my son just doesn't get simple phrases that every one uses. Yesterday he asked " what does It's about time mean? " . Odd for a kid that is nearly 7. It's these nuances that get him. I just don't know. Is this the PDD?
