Guest guest
Thanks to all who answered me. I will try to answer your questions best I can. My son freezes up all time, when watching TV, when trying to eat, when getting ready for school. He does it alot, and that is what has me worried. It seems to be disrupting his life tremendously. He does hear what we say to him, but he won't answer until he can. He has been diagnosed with Tourette's, OCD, and ADHD. What started this whole thing was when he took Adderral for ADHD, well the tics did not stop when we stopped the medication. I wanted to sue that company that makes it, because they claimed that the tics stopped when the medication was stopped. That was not true in myson't case. I wished someone could help me that has experienced that. At least I might could sue them for what we have been through. I usually don't believe in that sort of stuff, but it has changed my son's life. Our divorce is hard on him, he hates staying with me, wants to live with his dad, and I wont' let him. His dad drinks, and can't be responsible enough to take care of all his needs. When he is at his dad's, he misses his medication sometimes. My mom calls him and reminds him to take it. He stays at my parents most of the time, and is very hateful to me. So. yes, this divorce could be the biggest reason for all this. There is a Christian therapist I used for my anxiety. I also am bipolar, but his dr does not think that he is. I would like to check into other possiblities that could be the problem. My son sees his doctor in March, and they treat autism, adhd, tourettes, etc where I take him. I am just gonna have to make his dr understand what is going on , and see what he can do for him. Thank you all so much, much love, Vickie in GA
Guest guest
Hang in there, Vickie, It sounds like you are doing the best for your son even though he may not understand it now. I always tell my kids (about many things) " It is my job to be your mother not just your friend. " It's nice when you can be both, but when you know that what he thinks he wants would be harmful to him...you have to do the best you can. > > Subject: 15 yr old with freezing spells > To: > Date: Saturday, January 30, 2010, 1:40 PM > Thanks to all who answered me. > I will try to answer your questions best I can.
