I'm having the same issue with my 2 girls...I'm going to go check out a medical store in town that sells bathroom stuff. I'm thinking they must have something. I just hope it's not to make it taller for an elderly person...if so my girls would need a step stool to get on.

[DownSyndromeInfoExchange] potty seat help

I need potty seat help. Phoebe is not potty trained yet, but the potty seats are now too small, and the regular toilet seat is too big. I have gotten the ones that fit on the regular toilet seat but they are made for a two year old butt. When I try to sit Phoebe on the regular potty she just falls in. I have tried sitting her backwards and that is still too big for her legs. Any advice?

Hi !

Have you looked into this type of potty seat? It looks like the inner circumference of these seats might be bigger than the other type potty seats.

(6) is finally daytime potty trained. YAAAAY!!!!!

He still needs assistance to minimize splattering and help with pants if they're not elastic waist and to make sure he washes and dries his hands. And he still uses a potty chair for #2, cause the only other way that works is to take shoes, pants, and undies off so he can sit backwards on the toilet.

Nighttime is a different story. I get him up once a night to go potty and change his nighttime pull up or his pjs and bed will be wet every morning. And once or twice a week, his nighttime pull up is not only saturated but also soiled with a loose movement in the morning. I think he actually moves his bowels in his sleep or else in a half-awake state.

The loose bowels could be related to dairy or gluten, which I try to keep minimal but have not totally eliminated. Or it could be due to the 300 mg of NAC I give him twice a day to keep inflamation down in his lungs and airway. Thanks, , for that tip which really does work. Although peds and pulmonologists think I'm strange, and don't seem to appreciate that I don't follow their plan to simply give him Flovent daily for 8 or 9 months of the year.

By the way, if you or anyone else is having trouble getting their child trained for #2, there is a new book that comes from a whole different perspective! The perspective of "Gurdie" a shy turdie who conquers anxiety to make a big splash! This really might work for kiddos with developmental delays! Spread the word!

I happen to indirectly know the author and illustrator. No commission in this for me. Just glad to help them out and help out the many moms at their wits end as to how to get past the mental/emotional block and/or sensory issues in this area.

Is. 40:31 "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
