Guest guest
Revealed: The thousands of pregnancies aborted for 'abnormalities' including cleft palates and Down's syndrome2,290 abortions due to foetal medical problems last year<http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2011092/Aborted-cleft-palate-Thousands-pregnancies-aborted-abnormalities-including-500-Downs.html>Data released after a Freedom of Information Act petition was filed. Of course this is only for the UK, for one year only : 2010. The figures in the U.S. are harder to tease out. The CDC's latest data is from 2007, where "A total of 827,609 abortions were reported to CDC for 2007"later they say that 4% were intended pregnancies and those can be assumed to be for fetal abnormalities. 4% of 827,609 is 33,104 terminated because of a test result showing possible problems. Sad. My daughter with Down syndrome is SUCH a blessing! Nothing down about her! She's fabulous, and doing great. Liora
