I know what you mean about frequent new symptoms. They crop up and I

just think, " Crap! " . I was diagnosed with the costal chondritis by

orthopedist. I get the pain in my sternum and in the ribs. Sometimes

I can get my sternum to pop, and boy is it loud!! It is painful, it is

difficult to move, sometimes, and difficult to breath. Sometimes I

feel like I'm becoming a hypochondriac. I told my orthopedist this

and he just laughed at me. It's ok, we've known each other for 10

years, I work with him!! LOL It is caused by inflamtion of the

cartlidge, though the cause isn't entirely known. Hope it gets better

for you. How long have you been on Humira?..Marina

Hi there,

Oh yes, big time!!! It is a side-effect of the Dercum's Disease that I

have, and the first time it hit, I scared my poor husband half to death

because we thought I was having a heart attack! My doctor prescribed

rest, ice, and anti-inflammatories (I take diclofenac/Voltaren) and

that helps. I recently had shoulder surgery to do some repair work,

and the orthpedic doc said that the way I was favoring that arm might

have set off the attacks, but it affected my collarbone, back, and ribs

down my left side. I don't know if it is typical of RA.

Hope you get some relief,

Judi
