Guest guest
Baby delaney was of a sick baby this week and so took of her to the doctor, she to say delaney had of a virus and was much nasal congestions so she to say with great hesitations that cold medicines are not good for babies but because delaney was really struggling to nurse and sleep to try pedi care. So I to went to buy of some and asked pharmacy person how much to give they to looked it up and to say half a dropper so i to tell Aimee only 1/4 a dropper becaue of the history of me to be hyper sensistive to many things. Delaney seems to get over stimulated by too much stimuli easy too, so I to always tell Aimee to only give of half of what they suggest unless it is certain medications such as antibiotics or such..... Anyways after she to ahd a dose of this she within the hour began doing odd sizure like flickering of the eyes with rapid blinking but were partly closed and her eyes to rolled up funny like, we took of her to the urgent care place and while there she to had of two times where both arms went out to her sides fast and flat to the table and her head arched of back and so did of her back arch up they lasted a few seconds so they to telled us to get her to childrens hospital .. After amny hours they finally shared two things Delaney is of much reactive to sudafed which is in this infant pedi care stuff and that that drug is a very nasty drug to anyones and can do some real damage to children espcailly infants so we are to never give her ever anythings with sudafed ever again.... and they also found why she is of to scream cry so much she to has of gerd. so we have to put her on zantex? or somethings of that.... but the doctor there say we should be to see a much happier baby soon. I to be ever so happy as she is of to cause me great sensory overload with her scream cries but when she is of a happy baby i to love to hold her and snuggle and smell her she is of a funny baby with much giggles and smiles. But now I to think she will maybe not be coming to the conference with me as i to be to not want to take her when she is not of her best and not feeling so good to travel that far with her for now. But will bring of much pictures of her. Sondra
Guest guest
Sondra, Zantac is only a temporary cover-up, and while you will probably notice an improvement, it will be masking the true cause of her reflux, which can be a life-long chronic disease, if the root cause is not found. My suggestion to you would be to take her to see a good chiropractor. The vagus nerve (cranial nerve 10), which controls the esophageal sphincter at the top of the stomach, runs close to the cervical (neck) vertebrae. Sometimes the vertebrae can get out of place during a long or difficult labor and this can affect the esophageal sphincter in such a way that stomach acid will back up into the esophagus, causing reflux. If the chiropractor detects a misalignment in the spine and does an adjustment, you could see improvement right away and reduce and eventually eliminate the need for Zantac. You might also want to see a homeopath. It's very important to allow the body to heal itself, whenever possible. > .... and they also found why > she is of to scream cry so much she to has of gerd. so we have to > put her on zantex? or somethings of that.... but the doctor there > say we should be to see a much happier baby soon. Guest guest
I think that you should try and get a referal to a pediatric gasterointerologist and possibly an allergist as well. Reflux is VERY frequently caused by allergies or intolerances to certain foods (especially dairy) that she could be getting exposed to through breast milk. I know you mentioned that you and Aimee both have some food intolerances too, so it is very likely she does as well. If you can figure out what the trigger foods are, and Aimee can avoid eating them, you might see an improvement. Guest guest
Sondra, Delaney sounds much like my Dinah. Dinah would rarely take a bottle, even with breast milk. She was breastfeeding crazy, and she also was/is easily upset when things don't go her way. The first six mos she would scream if Craig wasn't rocking her from 7-11pm. It had to be only him and if he stopped rocking she would cry. I'm sure it's hard for Aimee to give up the meal she loves. We moms give up so much. Is there any way she could cook the meal without the additives of restaurant food? I'm wondering if it's the MSG that's upsetting Delaney. I've heard that baby massage can help calm a sensory baby. Guest guest
she ususally eat the places with no msg but we recently buyed of her a book called the ahppiest baby on the block because right now she wins title of being the most fussiest LOL as this of a play on words but not a real contest things. it is a book to teach how to calm fussy screamy babies and how to reduce the sensory overload of too much for babies. Delaney is of to me a strong knowing what she wants and does not want child. her temperment is of going to be of one of great vchallenges at times. her name means decendent of the challenger which my Aimee is and forever will be LOL so the baby and mom aremuch alike in this except Aimee as baby was very passive in temperment and happy and social and funny. Delaney is all this too in her own ways. she is bald and a chunky girl now but has the most of beautiful eyes to me and a very sweet smile for a baby. when she is getting angry one leg goes up and down like a marching position and she stomps that one foot we to tease and say she is pumping up the angers.... Guest guest
I love babies, but I like you feel crazy in the head when they scream. It makes me want to shake my hands in the air. Guest guest
Hi Sondra, You may have already tried this, but when my daughter had to be switched over to formula it took me a few tries of different brands of bottles in different styles to get one she liked. I finally found one that was most like the shape of my breast/nipple. Then Allie switched over as easy as can be. She had another set back during her next growth spurt and started screaming at feeding time. I thought that maybe the bottle wasn't flowing fast enough, and she was getting frustrated. I made the hole in the bottle nipple larger with a heated needle so the formula would come out faster and she was happy again. Sandi (Allie's Mom) Houston In a message dated 7/9/2006 8:52:37 A.M. Guest guest
My son had problems with formula that had iron added. We ended up making his formula and he was content.
