Guest guest
Hi - I think you are doing all the right thing for your son & am so glad that ERP therapy is helping. We did this for our daughter and it was so helpful to her. I did want to say however, that sudden onset OCD in a young child is often a clinical sign of PANDAS. You may want to check this out a little more - sorry if I am repeating someone else, I am way behind on this busy board!!! PANDAS, especially if the first episode, does wane as well. However, if you are still concerned, or if he has another exacerbation, you may want to check out PANDAS - there are now some doctors around the country that are treating these children very successfully, and more research is happening now. Our daughter has PANDAS, and has now had 3 extreme exacerbations. Now that we have medical treatment to combine with ERP, she is doing extremely well and we finally have hope that we may be able to control this. Especially for parents that can remember a day or a week that their child's life changed - it's a huge red flag. If you need more info, let us know.
