Guest guest
Thanks to everyone who responded! I like the idea of getting her use to the pads before periods even start. She has a lot of sensory issues so this would be a great thing. I will also look into the video, we do have a major autism center here in Seattle. Maybe they have a copy. I really want to look into the medications etc. I'm torn, I guess I'll have to do some in depth research. I really want to try one for her, but I don't want her to have any side effects. When I was just turning 20, I went in for a surgery. I just happen to be on birth control pills. The doctor didn't tell me to discontinue them for a couple of weeks prior to surgery. I had a MAJOR pulmonary embolism and heart arrest, and my husband and parents were told that I would not live. It was a complete miracle, I stunned the ICU. Well now I know about that little printed warnings about increased chance of blood clots from birth control pills. I wish there was some help that didn't work with hormones. Thanks for everyone's help! Rhonda
