Council launches investigation into allegations

An investigation has been launched after council staff apparently mocked disabled children by putting pictures of the youngsters on a 'wall of shame'.

An insider at Kent County Council claims that workers at the school transport office singled out photographs of children 'who looked a bit different', regularly referring to them as 'mongs' and 'mingers'.

It is believed the pictures were sent in by the parents of the children as part of school bus pass applications.

The source said: 'I was appalled by what was going on. It made me sick to the stomach.'
