Honestly I wouldn't mind if they left it up. What this idiot has done is made himself look monumentally foolish for all time by posting that on the net. " Good points as usual. But the advantage to having the video removed is that it will show people that the autistic community will not stand for that sort of thing. It shows autistics care enough about themselves to take a stand. How You Tube responds, on the other hand, is demonstrative of their view of the autistic community. Many of us have written to You Tube and asked that the video be removed. The letters must have fallen on deaf ears, or else You Tube must approve of this sort of content. Many are school age, and just how is was horrofic in our time to see a person with low cognitive skills bullied in school, there were always those that used it as a pastime and a boost to their own fragile ego's. The most disturbing part is now it is a method to see fame. What is so great about social settings again. " Here is the substance of the video: There was a kid with an accelerated voice, so that he sounded like one of the chipmunks from Alvin and the Chipmunks. He said: " Hi, my name's ____. And I'm autistic. " Then he proceded to say " Blah! Blah! Blah! " for the next three minutes at chipmunk speed and interspersed his " Blahs " with various paroxisms and rude gerstures and non-sensical shouts. The comments the video received were mostly ones of approval, and it took weeks of writing letters for the video to finally be removed.
