Guest guest
Anyone doing the OCD family study from JOhns Hopkins? They had an ad on Amazon.com when I searched for the book, " Saving Sammy. " It's looking for genetic markers in OCD. I'm for it, husband isn't so sure. OCD son is willing. My dh's drawback is that we have to sign off on psychiatric records and he's worried about privacy, identity theft, etc. Don't even have any verification that this person is from JOhns Hopkins, just visited on the phone with her a couple of times and gave preliminary info. INput welcomed, Becky in N.D.
Guest guest
yes, we did it although we still have a few questionnaires to fill out and send back. They came to our house, interviewed both my daughter and myself (both of us have OCD), took a blood sample from me and a saliva sample from her, as well as blood samples from my husband and my parents. I think it is well worth it although they spent quite a few hours with us and then left us with the questionnaires to fill out. If I can answer any more questions, please e-mail me directly at kusminfam@.... Also the ERP therapist that my daughter was working with trained with some of the researchers at Hopkins (we are in the DC area).
