Guest guest
So are you now claiming that you are ASAN only to recant this later when pressed on the issue? I don't understand what you are asking. ASAN is not one person. It is an organization. I am not ASAN. I am a member of the organization. re: locked out gprobertson wrote: "in order to prevent being accused of any underhand attitudes when those investigating my past are confronted by my present, I must confess another lockout. http://www.aspieweb.net/australia-autistic-committee-lockout-a4/ but the other 2 Autistics are really nice and they have not been locked out before." Asking if you are ASAN is like asking if you are Australian. We all know that there's more than ONE Australian just like we know there's more than one person who is a card carrying member of ASAN. And you are not JUST a member of the organization. You posted that YOU, as a member of ASAN, along with others (forming the " WE " of your post) sent Tony Attwood a letter which YOU sent registered mail. Those are YOUR words, not anyone putting words in your mouth as you so like to claim when you are pressed to clarify your contradictory comments. Rest assured everyone here knows that ASAN is an organization and that YOU are an integral part of it, in your own words. Raven
Guest guest
I would suggest that if anyone can lay claim to being ASAN, it is Ari. Answering a request for someone to post a letter is not really a critical role. There are many other members who have the capacity to post a letter. I am probably going to be involved more over the matter of being locked out of the peak advocacy group, but that has not happened yet. I think what everyone here knows is that I am an active member of ASAN, not a lurker. Re: locked out gprobertson wrote: "I don't understand what you are asking. ASAN is not one person. " Except that YOU presented yourself as being so much MORE than just someone posting a letter. In a previous post you alluded to being related to Tony Attwood. A member asked you to clarify what you meant by that post and you did not respond, preferring to leave the implication that you were directly related to him. Then you posted to this forum that "we" -- meaning you and other members of ASAN-AU -- had drafted a letter and YOU had sent it to him via registered mail. It was followed by an announcement that "we" -- meaning you and those same other members of ASAN-AU -- had gotten Tony to 'see the light' and agree with ASAN-AU. You have put forth that you are so much more than just a member of the group and have implied and stated indirectly that you are quite high up in the organization. To now plead that you are just a lowly member doesn't ring true. gprobertson wrote: " ... <snip> ... Are you saying that up until recently you WERE lurking in this forum on behalf of ASAN? How silly of you to be lurking on behalf of ASAN when Ari is already a member of this group! Guest guest
Do you have the quote where I claim to be related to Tony Attwood? Guest guest
" I am probably going to be involved more over the matter of being locked out of the peak advocacy group, but that has not happened yet. " No one need wonder about WHY the committee members were thrown out. It is clear the committee members had a dissenting view that was unacceptable to other A4 committee members and that this view was ongoing. Clearly when you have a committee assembled with two warring factions, it is best if those factions part from one another and attempt to advocate on their own. The severed committee members -if they are deemed more competent- can now use their influence to form their own organization and advocate for autistics in a way that best suits them. If they are as valuable as ASAN implies, then the general public will clearly ignore the remaining A4 steering committee members in favor of those who have been severed from A4. ASAN-AU's attempt to trash/thrash A4 only demonstrates that they have a grudge and/or axe to grind while failing to acknowledge that the members who were thrown off may in fact have been thrown off simply because they were disruptive to the meetings. While ASAN can suggest or imply that " They were thrown off BECAUSE they were autistic " I find dubious. They may all have been autistic, but they may all have been acting like idiots as well and may deserve to be cast to the wind. I have not attended any of A4's meetings obviously, and have limited knowledge of the events which traspire in them, but I do know that the response to this parting of the ways on ASAN-AU's part has been like that of a crying and pouting baby who got thrown out of his high chair just as the food being was served. " You made reference to it in April of this year and when a member asked you to clarify the comment and indicate how it related to the discussion proper you chose to ignore the post in its entirety. Use the SEARCH function. The post remains in the forum, unaddressed by you. Raven
Guest guest
However, when all of the autistic members are dissenting, that may indicate that some issues may need reexamination- Or the contingent was such a minority that it was prone to " noise " .
