Guest guest
Hi Melt, I've had muscle pain all these years that I have been " in remission " lol (ha, ha, whatever that is!) and I have also had bouts of calf and shin pain that my old rheumy said was probably tendonitis? or Stills in the tendons! who knows, all I know is it hurts all over and won't go away! I've been taking 3 Aleve tablets a few times a day and that seems to help sometimes. Must be helping with the swelling... but at least I'm still off all the hard drugs for the time being. Good luck in your search for answers, Tammi
Guest guest
, I know I have read that and my rheumy has mentioned it. I was under the impression that the disease can attach all the connective tissue: muscles, tendons, ligaments, cartilage etc. I read almost all the articles when I first joined so it has been awhile, I know I get a lot of muscle pain and have had Fibro ruled out by several doc's. Lynn -- Muscle pain Sunflower Hi all; I know some of you have muscle pain and I did in the beginning almost thirty years ago. But then it was all over pain. Well lately the past few weeks and several other times in the past couple of years I have muscle pain in my calves. It feels like a constant Charlie horse. Each time blood clots are ruled out because of a prior history. So, I think I read somewhere that Stills can affect the muscles. Kathleen, or Caroline, or someone with these issues can you help enlighten me? I will be seeing my rheumatologist the first week in September but thought I might get some insight here. Thanks in advance, Melt Please visit http://www.stillsdisease.org to learn about Stills.

Guest guest
Hi Melt, My first diagnosis in 1996 was Dermatomyositis, which has muscle pain/weakness as one of it's major symptoms. The diagnosis changed to Still's in 2001 under my new RD - I'm a very typical Still's patient, but I still have a lot of muscle trouble. I just read for the first time, in the Dr Cush article, that Still's and Dermatomyosistis are difficult to distinguish between. My RD also says that sometimes symptoms of different Rheumatological conditions can overlap - I'd always wondered why my muscle symptoms were outside the Still's mold but as someone said it can effect all connective tissues too because of this overlap. I'm really interested in the connection between Still's and muscle involvement, so it was good to see this post. Not sure I've been much help in answering your question, but just wanted to let you know you're not alone with it =) Take care, > Hi all; > I know some of you have muscle pain and I did in the beginning almost thirty years ago. Guest guest
Hi all, I too have muscle pain -- everywhere. It's usually just in my legs - - the whole leg from ankle up to mid-thigh, but occassionally in my forearms and, oddly, sometimes in the muscles in my neck. I too would like to learn more about this and if it's Stills or something else in conjunction with the Stills.
