I guess I am looking at this from the perspective of, what kind of therapy do I

look for now that we are looking for someone new. This is kind of a new

wrinkle, the dermatillamania, but its rooted in her anxiety, which is also why

she uses marijuana. So I guess the root is the anxiety. Being dual diagnosis

now, we always have to look at the substance abuse, but addressing ONLY that

(like through 12 step) kind of leaves the other part out.

After reading this ... I want to say something about piercing. I have heard

this from two different therapists: one said piercing is like a form of self

mutilation, the other one said no. My daughter pierced 5 ear holes and one in

her lip, so since she did it herself, I wonder if it counts as self-injury, like

the picking?
