My 6 yr old starts first grade on tuesday. he has notmention school at all-not

good for him. Wed we saw his therapist and then had open house at the school

that evening. Since leaving his therapists wed he has off and on rages of epic

proportions. His doc talked about uping his risperdal to twice a day but didn't

do it. Thursday he slapped (unprovoked) two of the neighborhood kids (repeadly)

then yesterday his rages were with me and were off and on from 4pm till when his

melatonin kicked in. My biggest problem is there is no one to contact for help

until tuesday. I called his doc/therapist office who had the usual recording to

call community mental health. I called community mental health who told me no

med changes would happen on a weekend even if I brought him in. In desperation I

called the after hours clinic through our regular doc's office who could not

help me but suggested I could bring him into the ER. I don't want to do this. I

know if he gets the right meds and transitions into school he will eventually

calm down but I have no idea how long that will take. My husband is no help-he

was angry because he works third shift and got no sleep due to the noise. He

just wants us to put him in a hospital -don't even know if that's possible. I

know this is coming from adreniline from the anxiety. he threw things at my head

repeatedly last night, I had to restain him alot yesterday. Today and tomorrow

will be o.k. because I am at work and I am his main target-he is good for

everyone else. Monday is my worry right now. How can a kid be on meds and have

no one to help? The doc should have just done the twice a day risperdal or given

me instructions. I am frightened of him when he is in these states but just

don't knwo what to do.
