Guest guest
I agree with this statement. Many kids in the US already know how to twist the law to use against adults. All they have to do is say that a teacher hit them or tried to have sex with them and the teacher is in deep trouble. That these things do sometimes happen makes this treachery all the worse. I'm sure Quebec will be seeing far more lawsuits of this kind and parents living in fear of their kids. Personally, if I were the father and my daughter wanted to behave like that, I wouldn't want to have any more contact with her, ever. The girl probably doesn't care because she now lives with her mother who will let her do whatever she wants. Daddy will soon be forgotten outside of jokes and insults, or perhaps giving advice to other kids who don't get their way. In a message dated 4/18/2009 2:01:08 P.M. Laws are supposed to reflect our values. And if the courts aren't reflecting that, maybe the government will, to prevent children from going this way," she said Tuesday, adding her client may take the case to Canada's Supreme Court. In its Monday ruling, the appeal court warned the case should not be seen as an open invitation for children to take legal action every time they're grounded.
