Hi Sheree,

Your description of your son could also fit my daughter although

I would add that when she gets anxious she gets ugly and aggressive.

She is also very impulsive and wants everything NOW! She writes very

well but doesn't like to write because (I think) it takes too much

time. She is polite almost to a fault and all her teachers love her.

Did you try Cogentin along with Abilify to reduce the muscle

stiffness side effect? My daughter is also doing better on Abilify

but we had to add 2 mg of Cogentin because of what appeared as a " neck

stretching tic " . She has had other types of " tourette like tics " .

Eye blinking, throat clearing, shoulder twitch and now a nasal noice

along with the neck stretch. Certainly not enough of a problem to

stop the abilify because before that drug she was non functioning and

life was miserable for all of us.

I agree they need another label. Her OCD is not typical. It is

symmetry and it use to be counting. She still doesn't like to waste.

That doesn't sound bad but because of it she's very, very bossy. At

her worse, she couldn't tolerate any mistakes I made and believe me

that occurred multiple times a day.
