Guest guest
Vermont and New Hampshire frequently wined about secession when Republicans were in charge, even under Clinton when the rest of the US wouldn't lurch far enough left to suit them. No one ever said anything about that though. Other states have also made noises at one time or another. Some parts of states want to secede from the rest of the state, like Northern California from Southern California. Other places, parts of cities want to break away from the rest of the city, or county, like parts of New York City wanting to break away from the high tax remainder. What the Democrats should take from this and the Tea Parties is that there is tremendous dissatisfaction with them. The Republicans had better wake up too because the polls aren't much better for them either. Unfortunately, I fear what is going to happen is that both parties will get together against the masses to secure their power. Many times before governments have acted to preserve their power against the people, even if it meant rivals becoming allies. In a message dated 4/16/2009 6:11:27 P.M. It is the ultimate anti-American statement," Dunnam said at a news conference. The Democrats are proposing a House resolution expressing "complete and total disagreement with any fringe element advocating the 'secession' of Texas or any other state from our one and indivisible Union." Guest guest
Those water issues are going to be serious very soon. The drought in the Southwest has been going on for a few years and historic evidence shows that they can last for decades. Already water is running short as far east as Nevada with the reservoir behind Hoover Dam becoming dangerously low. If it gets too low, not only will water to Vegas be threatened, but also the downstream water treaties. Most interesting will be if the water level gets too low to generate power at the dam. Because California refused to build new powerplants for the last few decades, they need the power from Hoover more than ever. If the dam has to cut back or stop outright, much of the Southwest and Southern California will go dark. Then the rest of the nation will suffer as people flee the darkened cities caused by years of misrule. In a message dated 4/16/2009 9:58:33 P.M. Perhaps some day all of California will split from the US in the most literal sense. " Right now, Cook County in Illinois wants to break into two counties, with Chicago being Cook County and the rest of Cook County forming a new county. It's all the corruption. Chicago adores and embraces corruption, while the suburbs don't. That may actually happen. Administrator
