Guest guest
Cristy, if this started after the addition of a new medication (Klonopin) and haven't stopped any other med, then I would assume it's the new med causing it (or the new med doesn't mix well with a current med). So after her starting off so well on it the first day, helping with sleep and her OCD, it's gone downhill since?? > > She's on Klonopin . The pharmacist said her problems are from the seroquil . > ----- Original Message ----- >
Guest guest
This has not happened to me, but as a nursing administrator, I have dealt with it at the hospital. It was easy for me to intervene however. It comes down to abandonment essentially and the doctor's license may be in jeopardy. Sometimes doctors forget to forward their office number calls to their answering services. Did you get an answering service? If so, I would ask that they personally reach the doctor instead of just paging him and I might even tell them something that suggests that you will have no choice but to go to the hospital with your son and tell them that you cannot reach him. If you are calling the office number and are just getting a recording, try just punching in " 0 " to see if you get transferred to the answering service. Maybe the pharmacist can call the hospital where he's on staff? My son had a lot of problems with klonopin and seroquel together. If one drug is new (klonopin), you might try stopping it until you get some physician guidance. If the seroquel was increased, you might go to the lower dose. I have used Benadryl in a pinch, but if you do, don't give it with the seroquel. Hope you get results. Sounds like it's time to find a pdoc who has weekend coverage. Does your therapist have connections with him or another physician?
