Guest guest
Yes. It wasn't too long ago when so many were saying that Afghanistan was a lost cause and we should pull out. Now that they are in power, its a different tune, just like when they said the Bush deficits were unsustainable but now they have outdone Bush by a factor of 5 and counting. I think what is going on here is that this administration, just like the Clinton administration, hates the military. They by now have to know that much of the military's equipment needs to be replaced because it is wearing out and becoming unserviceable and even dangerous. The troops are wearing out too. Physically they suffer lots of small muscular and skeletal injuries from the massive weight they have to carry, often close to 120 pounds. Jumping out of vehicles, even if only a few inches, dropping to the ground, getting up again, and doing this over and over again tears the body up. Then there are the psychological issues of being so often away from home and in combat. Add to that this administration's noble plan to cut veteran's medical benefits and force them to find private insurance. This week Congress voted to expand Americorp from 70k to over 250k people. A paper put out by the Pentagon said that this "Civilian Expeditionary Force" would be used for things like enforcing green energy, restoring order after natural disasters, and also just plain restoring order without any particular definition of what that means. Take this with Obama's call to produce a civilian force equal to the military, and it is very worrisome. I think they are trying to run the military ragged so that when a domestic crisis either arises or is manufactured, they can use these Brown Shirts, to crush resistance to the administration. Keep in mind also that Missouri recently defined a domestic terrorist as anyone who belonged to a third party organization, amongst other completely innocent things. Well, we have not significantly drawn down the troops in Iraq yet and now we are putting more troops than ever into Afghanistan.Administrator Feeling the pinch at the grocery store?
